Created by New York-based artist Anne Patterson, the Graced With Light installation consists of colors inspired by stained glass, hence the comparison. Taking months to prepare, it took Patterson and the Grace Cathedral community eight days to actually hand-assemble the project. It also boasts [music and video projection](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moment-installation). Patterson envisioned it as "a series of light pathways, connecting heaven and earth, manifest as ribbons. The ribbons carry our prayers, dreams and wishes skyward, and, in turn, grace streams down the ribbons to us." ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.5/10 - Popularity: 65% | Activity: 61% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Stained Glass Reimagined:** The use of alternative materials and installation methods to create beautiful stained glass-like installations presents new opportunities for artists and designers. - **Multi-sensory Art Installations:** The incorporation of sound and projections in art installations presents new possibilities for creating immersive, multi-sensory experiences. - **Community-based Art Projects:** Collaboration between artists and communities in creating large-scale art installations can foster a sense of community ownership and pride. ### Where This Applies - **Art and Design:** Opportunities for innovation exist in experimenting with new materials and techniques to create unique pieces that challenge traditional modes of artistic expression. - **Architecture and Interior Design:** The integration of art installations in architecture and interior design presents opportunities for creating dynamic and interactive spaces that engage the senses. - **Tourism and Hospitality:** Large-scale art installations like the Graced With Light project can attract visitors to cities and create new possibilities for tourism and hospitality industries. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Stunningly Intricate Light Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shapes-of-light.md) - [Raindrop-Inspired Hospital Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hospital-installation.md) - [Wonderous Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/your-psychoacoustic-light-ensemble.md) - [Resin Gravity Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-great-tree.md) - [Suspended Lighting Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/suspended-lighting-installation.md) - [Immersive Light Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spencer-finch.md) - [Sculptural Glass Chandeliers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tamar-grande-chandelier.md) - [Stone Vaulting Glass Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/serpentine-bell.md) - [Immersive Crystal Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/immersive-crystal-installation.md)
