# GPS Tracked Holy Figures Adding Tracers to Menorahs and Nativity Scenes By Cowbag | Published 2008-12-15 | Social Good Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gps-tracked-nativity-thiefs-god-gps-are-watching-you1 References: [npr.org](http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=98224045) So many nativity displays and menorahs are being stolen that churches and synagogues have been forced to install [GPS trackers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/find-my-skechers) so they can find them again! Apparently Baby Jesus is the most common victim of these thefts, I figure it's because he is the star of the show and the ransom would be much higher than on, say, a sheep. Check out the gallery to remind you of other people’s sins. A fair few baby Jesus dolls, a couple of sheep and even a Virgin Mary have already been found this way. Not everything is [straight forward theft](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/unstealable-chocolate) though… the baby Jesus was stolen from the [First United Methodist Church of Kittanning (Pa.](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/first-lego-league)) and was replaced with a pumpkin. Brilliant! If you are tempted to be bad, remember that God AND GPS are watching you! See bonus video for some festive fun… It is childish, but it is Christmas. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.5/10 - Popularity: 18% | Activity: 80% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Social Good](https://www.trendhunter.com/socialgood) > [Religious](https://www.trendhunter.com/religious) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Gps-tracked Holy Figures:** Opportunity to innovate by incorporating GPS tracking technology into religious figurines to prevent theft. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Religious Art:** Disruptive innovation potential in the religious art industry by implementing GPS technology for security. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [GPS-Tracking Cubes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cube-gps.md) - [GPS Pet Trackers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/petcube-gps-tracker.md) - [Festive Rooftop Parking Spots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/parking-space-for-santa.md) - [AI-Powered Santa Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/heysanta.md) - [Comedic Christmas Parodies](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/reinfell-ad.md) - [Interactive Gift Tags](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/interactive-gift-tag.md) - [Tech-Driven Tooth Fairy Trackers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tooth-fairy-tracker.md) - [Comprehensive GPS Product Ranges](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lightning-gps.md) - [Wilderness GPS Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/micro-battery-powered-asset.md)
