GPS has been used for everything from finding directions in cars to finding lost phones, but Trax will allow users more control than other GPS devices before it. Trax is specifically designed for parents who want to exercise a bit more control over their [children and pets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/family-safety-app). Trax is a small [clippable piece of tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tile-bluetooth) that can easily attach to children's clothes, collars and other articles on children and animals. After Trax is attached, parents can see where their children are going in real-time. The Trax GPS service also lets parents keep track of distance traveled and even set up [geo-fences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/safety-alerts) to keep their children in. When a child leaves the mapped location, the parent will be informed. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.2/10 - Popularity: 56% | Activity: 93% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **GPS Tracking for Children and Pets:** Trax provides parents with the ability to track their children and pets in real-time using GPS technology. - **Geo-fencing for Childhood Safety:** Trax lets parents set up geo-fences to keep children in safe zones and allows for alerts when the boundaries are crossed. - **Wearable Tech for Family Use:** Trax's wearable technology allows for easy attachment to clothing and other articles on children and animals for real-time tracking. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Wearable Technology Industry:** The wearable tech industry can benefit from the development of Trax-like devices for family tracking. - **Child Safety Industry:** Trax presents an opportunity for the child safety industry to innovate and incorporate GPS tracking into their products. - **Pet Care Industry:** Trax provides an opportunity for the pet care industry to integrate GPS tracking into pet collars and improve pet safety. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Enhanced Connectivity Pet Trackers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/life360-pet-gps.md) - [GPS-Enabled Dog Trackers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pitpat.md) - [Cat-Tracking Collars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tile-for-cats.md) - [Discreet Tracking Shoes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/find-my-skechers.md) - [Location-Tracking Safety Wearables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/orbit-protect-gps-tracker.md) - [Compact Pet Tracking Units](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fi-mini-1.md) - [Family Safety Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/family-safety-app.md) - [Logistics-Tracking GPS Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/logistics-tracking-gps-app.md) - [GPS-Tracking Cubes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cube-gps.md)
