The unit maintains a [handheld design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/msi-claw-a8) that calls to mind systems of yesteryear with a [sliding display](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/anbernic-rg-slide) that elegantly raises up to reveal a full QWERTY keyboard underneath. The computer is flanked by joysticks, a directional pad and action buttons as a callback to mobile gaming systems. The GPD Win 4 is expected to arrive in the coming months and would work with a dock unit, presumably for charging and to use the system as a desktop when desired. The system will feature all the necessary power to run the same programs found on desktop alternatives. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.7/10 - Popularity: 92% | Activity: 96% | Freshness: 13% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Computers](https://www.trendhunter.com/computers) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Ultra-mobile Computing:** The GPD Win 4 showcases the potential of ultra-mobile computing with its handheld form factor and full QWERTY keyboard underneath. - **Sliding Display Design:** The GPD Win 4's sliding display design harkens back to systems of the past while also offering a unique form factor for modern users. - **Mobile Gaming Systems:** The GPD Win 4's inclusion of joysticks, a directional pad, and action buttons highlights the continued popularity and potential of mobile gaming systems. ### Where This Applies - **Computer Hardware Manufacturing:** Manufacturers in the computer hardware industry can explore opportunities to create unique form factors and design elements, as showcased by the GPD Win 4's sliding display design. - **Mobile Gaming Industry:** The GPD Win 4's inclusion of mobile gaming features opens up opportunities for developers and manufacturers in the mobile gaming industry to cater to users looking for a robust gaming experience on a portable device. - **Remote Work Solutions:** The GPD Win 4's ultra-mobile computing capabilities make it an ideal option for professionals seeking remote work solutions, presenting potential for industries related to telecommuting and portable workstations. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Modern Rehashed Handheld PCs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/win-4-2023.md) - [High-End Processor Handhelds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gpd-win-4-2024.md) - [Shapeshifting Business Gamer Laptops](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gpd-pocket-4.md) - [High-Power Handheld Gamer PCs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gpd-win-mini.md) - [Handheld Gamer Laptop Models](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gpd-win-max-2.md) - [Keyboard-Equipped Mobile Gaming Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ayaneo-slide.md) - [High-Performance Handheld Laptop Models](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gpd-micropc-2.md) - [Dual-Screen OLED Laptops](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gpd-duo.md) - [Compact Handheld Gaming PCs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/onexplayer-mini.md)
