# Modern Curvaceous Counters The Goggle Desk by Danny Venlet is a Sleek Contemporary Wonder By Matt Ho | Published 2011-06-14 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/goggle-desk References: [contemporist](http://www.contemporist.com/2011/06/13/goggle-desk-by-danny-venlet-for-babini/) & [venlet.net](http://www.venlet.net/) I'm really liking the Goggle Desk by Danny Venlet because it has a sleek modern look that's redefining the design of furniture pieces. Danny Venlet designed the Goggle Desk specifically for Italian office manufacturer Babini. The design takes on a smooth aerodynamic aesthetic that's contemporary and stylish. I especially like the open bottom that allows the entire desk to blend in with its surrounding environment. The [glossy lacquer finish](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/luis-gimeno) and the bright contrasting tones beautifully complement the design. There's also the addition of a [shelving unit on the side](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-leandesk) so that you have some space to store items with. The Goggle Desk is [modern furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/single-desk) at its best. The design and form of this piece makes it versatile and fitting in any home. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.2/10 - Popularity: 64% | Activity: 53% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Sleek Contemporary Furniture:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in furniture design by creating modern pieces with sleek, aerodynamic aesthetics. - **Open-concept Furniture:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in furniture design by incorporating open bottoms and seamless integration with surrounding environment. - **Multi-functional Furniture:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in furniture design by adding shelving units or storage spaces for enhanced functionality. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the furniture manufacturing industry by adopting sleek contemporary designs and open-concept features. - **Interior Design:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the interior design industry by incorporating modern, versatile furniture pieces with sleek aesthetics. - **Home Organization:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the home organization industry by creating multi-functional furniture pieces with integrated storage solutions. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Minimalist Monochromatic Desk Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arqus-desk.md) - [Hyper-Customizable Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hypercustomizable-desk.md) - [Ultra-Chic Wall Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wall-desks.md) - [Floating Architectural Desk Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/1949-protractor-desk.md) - [Ultra-Minimalist Elegant Desk Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/elegant-desk-design.md) - [Minimalist Modular Desk Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/console-desk.md) - [Elegant Working Desk Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mindset-builtin-computer-desk.md) - [Minimalist Storage-Friendly Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-bold-desk.md) - [Sleek Minimal Wall Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ab019-wall-desk.md)
