It is made with inspiration drawn from the Japanese design philosophy of godai, which relies on five main elements: fire, wind, earth, water, and space. The pavilion is defined by the use of bamboo and a roof hanging on top. It is made for a home in rural Cantabria and is made to align with the local weather. It is on the southern side and the studio notes, “The pavilion [creates] a dialogue between different architectures, with the pool as a central element and a link between the existing home and the new pavilion."
