The [GM](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chevrolet-bolt-campaign) 'Dr. EV-il' commercial has been debuted by the automotive brand ahead of the [Super Bowl](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/instacart-super-bowl) as a reboot of the Austin Powers comedy franchise that will no doubt entertain as it details electric vehicle plans for the future.

The commercial features familiar characters including the namesake Dr. Evil from the Austin Powers films getting back together to reduce their carbon footprint thanks to GM electric vehicles. The commercial highlights the brand's strategy to have 30 [electric vehicles available globally by 2025](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lyriq).

The GM 'Dr. EV-il' commercial was touted by Seth Green, who plays Scott Evil, when he explained, "It really does feel like the band that has been playing together for 30 years. Austin Powers' is still one of the most globally recognized things I've done. There is a fan base for it."
