In an effort to recognize restaurants that cater to people who eat and live gluten-free, two women established a city-wide gluten-free event. GlutenFreedom Toronto comes from Founder and Organizer of Gluten-Free Week Rachel Hunt as well as Founder and Owner of RachelBies Nutrition Rachel Bies. Hunt also started a blog called GlutenFreedom Toronto to build community around this lifestyle.

Described as the "gluten-free version of Summerlicious," the gluten-free event gives Torontonians access to a three course meal at a fixed price from local eateries that offer options to those with celiacs, gluten allergies and gluten-free lifestyle choices. It is the hope of Hunt and Bies that the event will grow so people feel a [gluten-free diet is more accessible](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/accessfest) and restaurants offer more choices on their menus.
