Trend Hunter's President Shelby Walsh recently sat down with Michael Revil Madjus from Toronto-based design firm Imm Living. Interviewing on behalf of the Globe and Mail, Shelby spoke to Michael about the design firm's team philosophy, alluring products and the challenges the firm faces as a small business.
Michael revealed that the firm's small team of only seven employees (plus the owner) often find themselves wearing many different hats. Entrepreneurial environments usually require team members to juggle many roles and responsibilities and Michael knows this all too well, doubling as both the lead on design and photography and the in-house photographer. He encourages creative individuals looking to start their own company to make sure they go into it with a business-minded partner -- there has to be a balance.
