The previous design — the Passport, won the Good Design Award by the [Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chicago-electric-boat-company). While its predecessor boasted an auto-resetting fuse that took "a minute for the adaptor to recover itself" after an overload, the new Passport Pro can be reset immediately with the push of a button should the flow of power exceed safety levels. Moreover, the convenience-forward global travel adapter's grounding system ensures that users are protected from electrical shock and the design is [child-safe](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/outletguard). The resettable fuse, on the other hand, protects the electronics from "getting fried." With four built-in USB ports and a promise for fast charging, the Passport Pro global travel adapter is sure to come in handy on the next international trip. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.7/10 - Popularity: 43% | Activity: 61% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [World](https://www.trendhunter.com/world) > [Travel](https://www.trendhunter.com/travel) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Resettable Fuse Technology:** The push-button resetting fuse technology has the potential to disrupt the travel technology industry by offering faster recovery time and better protection for electronic devices against overload. - **Child-safe Design:** The child-safe design of the Passport Pro global travel adapter presents an opportunity to disrupt the baby and child products industry by offering a safer and more portable solution for parents traveling with their children. - **Fast Charging USB Ports:** The fast charging USB ports of the Passport Pro global travel adapter can disrupt the electronics and mobile device industry by offering faster charging capability to people on the go or in areas with limited power sources. ### Where This Applies - **Travel Technology:** The updated grounded global travel adapter with push-button resetting technology will create a higher demand for more efficient and safer travel technology products. - **Baby and Child Products:** The child-safe design of the Passport Pro global travel adapter will appeal to parents who need to keep their children safe during international travels and can disrupt the baby and child products industry by offering a more portable solution. - **Electronics and Mobile Devices:** The fast charging USB ports of the Passport Pro global travel adapter can increase the need for faster charging capability for electronic devices and mobile phones, presenting a disruption opportunity for the electronics and mobile device industry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sophisticated Travel-Friendly Power Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/world-travel-adapters.md) - [Smart Universal Travel Adapters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-universal-travel-adapter.md) - [International Travel Tech Adapters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/usbc-travel-adapter.md) - [Compact Universal Travel-Ready Adaptors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ta205.md) - [Mecha-Style Travel Chargers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arsmel-visapro.md) - [Versatile European Travel Adapters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/european-travel-adapter.md) - [Multi-Passthrough Travel Adapters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/octopass.md) - [Ultra-Slim International Adapters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/anker-nano-travel-adapter.md) - [GaN Technology Travel Chargers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/polarries-ecube-100.md)
