The accessory works by being attached onto the rear of a laptop display and will offer a dedicated spot to position a smartphone for keeping it within view during laptop use. This will help users to take video calls, answer messages or even multitask with various content in the background as they work. The 'GliDOCK' smartphone dock is compatible with a wide range of smartphones and can be positioned onto the top or side portion of a laptop display. The flatpack design means the dock will stay completely out of the way when not in use. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.7/10 - Popularity: 64% | Activity: 38% | Freshness: 10% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Mobile](https://www.trendhunter.com/mobile) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Laptop-smartphone Docks:** The development of dock accessories allows industries to offer innovative ways of integrating laptops and smartphones. - **Multitasking Accessories:** The rise of multitasking accessories presents disruptive innovation opportunities that may help businesses cater to the needs of professionals working in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment. - **Hands-free Technology:** The proliferation of hands-free technologies provides a great opportunity for businesses to introduce products that reduce physical strain and enhance convenience for mobile users. ### Where This Applies - **Technology:** The technology industry can benefit from manufacturing and selling laptop-smartphone docks that cater to the needs of multitasking professionals. - **Professional Services:** The professional services industry can use multitasking accessories to improve employee productivity and create new value propositions for clients. - **Retail:** The retail industry can use hands-free technology to engage customers with interactive displays, demonstrations, and other forms of engagement that enhance the shopping experience. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Smartphone-Charging Laptop Docks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/uperfect-udock-x-156-pro.md) - [Spherical Smartphone Docking Stations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dockorb.md) - [Compact Multi-Position Smartphone Docks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/godonut-mini.md) - [Three-in-One Phone Docks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/omiodo-portable.md) - [Magnetic Laptop Smartphone Mounts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/orbita-iphone-mount.md) - [Smartphone-Powered Portable Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/onze-portable-display.md) - [Smartphone Mounting Monitors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nexmonitor.md) - [Wireless Laptop-Style Docks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nexdock-wireless.md) - [Portable Phone Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/onze.md)
