Designed by Greg Lundgren, the glass tombstones are full of vibrant colors and artistic flair. A beautiful way to pay tribute to an equally beautiful soul, these glass tombstones are a great alternative to [somber stone headstones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/morten-georgsen). By challenging conventional cemeteries, these glass tombstones communicate the light and energy of the departed. Created using such materials as bronze, steel and granite in addition to [cast glass](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/upglas-collection), Lundgren writes that a lack of artistry and color in traditional cemeteries "seems grossly out of character to represent the diverse, colorful and individuality of the people cemeteries honor and represent." ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.9/10 - Popularity: 65% | Activity: 74% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Life](https://www.trendhunter.com/life) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Artistic Glass Tombstones:** The trend of using artistic glass tombstones as a vibrant and expressive way to celebrate the life of a loved one. - **Modernizing Cemeteries:** The trend of challenging conventional cemeteries by introducing innovative and unique designs, such as glass tombstones. - **Personalized Memorials:** The trend of creating personalized memorials that reflect the individuality and colorful personalities of the departed. ### Where This Applies - **Funeral Services:** The funeral services industry can embrace the trend of offering artistic glass tombstones as a modern alternative to traditional headstones. - **Art and Design:** The art and design industry can explore the disruptive innovation opportunities presented by creating unique and vibrant glass tombstones for cemeteries. - **Material Manufacturing:** The material manufacturing industry can tap into the trend of incorporating materials like cast glass into cemeteries, opening up new possibilities for artistic and colorful memorials. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Commemorative Urn Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/commemorative-urn.md) - [Design-Forward Funerary Urn Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/funerary-urn.md) - [Reflective Memorial Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sanctum-of-trees.md) - [Tree-Covered Vertical Mausoleum](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hollywood-forever-cemetery.md) - [Expandable Spherical Monolithic Urns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/urna-project.md) - [Stone Floral Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lithic-bloom.md) - [Human Torso-Inspired Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lene-bdker.md) - [Dynamic Colorful Glass Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pavilion-set.md) - [3D-Printed Ecological Funeral Reefs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/resting-reefs.md)
