# Glass Cylinder Fireplaces Ponton by Wolf Udo Wagner is Clean and Contemporary for the Modern Home By Meghan Young | Published 2014-11-12 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/glass-cylinder-fireplace References: [moddea](http://moddea.com/2014/06/09/ponton-fireplace/) & [pontonliving.eu](http://www.pontonliving.eu/fireplace1eng.html) The days and nights are getting colder and that means making extra preparations as winter begins to settle in; enter the glass cylinder fireplace. Dubbed Ponton, it is a clean and chic design perfect for contemporary homes. The glass cylinder fireplace is also great for small spaces as its overall transparent aesthetic gives the illusion that it isn't taking up too much space. As though modeled after a bonfire, the glass cylinder fireplace looks best if set in the middle of a living room so people can gather around it. It is fueled by bioalcohol and can be used both indoors and outdoors. Designed by Wolf Udo Wagner, the glass cylinder fireplace burns for up to two and a half hours. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.8/10 - Popularity: 69% | Activity: 36% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Glass Cylinder Fireplaces:** Clean and chic designs for modern, small-space living. - **Bioalcohol Fuel:** Eco-friendly fuel option for indoor and outdoor heating. - **Contemporary Home Decor:** Innovative and stylish home heating options for modern living. ### Where This Applies - **Home Decor:** Opportunities to offer unique and modern heating options for the home. - **Renewable Energy:** Bioalcohol fuel could disrupt traditional heating methods for homes and outdoor spaces. - **Hospitality and Events:** Glass cylinder fireplaces can add innovative and chic heating solutions for hotels, restaurants, and events. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Mixed-Material Tabletop Fireplaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brasscene-harmony-flame-fireplace.md) - [Eco-Friendly Bioethanol Fireplaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/glammfire-contour.md) - [Slick Modern Holographic Fireplaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/holographic-fireplace.md) - [Convenient Personal Fireplaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/personal-fireplace1.md) - [Smokeless Accent Fire Pits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cuisinart-tabletop-fire-pit.md) - [Minimal Modern Oil Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fire-capsule-oil-lamp.md) - [Oxidized Outdoor Fire Pits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eva-solo-firecube.md) - [Portable Smokeless Fire Pits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bondstove-fire-pit.md) - [Cooking-Friendly Outdoor Fireplaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/regg-surprise.md)
