Their shape comes from the sound waves made from recording the sound of a footstep in the snow. As many have nostalgic feelings about the crunch of walking on fresh snow, it makes sense that these tradition-celebrating glass Christmas ornaments incorporate this element. Designed for the international center for glass arts, the Mix tree ornaments have a contemporary shape and incorporates the sound wave in 3D. A team of seven glass blowers made 7000 unique ornaments using a steel mold at Meisenthal's CIAV workshop. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.1/10 - Popularity: 19% | Activity: 6% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Playful Glass Christmas Ornaments:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore incorporating elements of sound and motion into traditional Christmas ornaments to create a modern and interactive holiday experience. - **Audio Recording Technology in Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Combine audio recording technology with different art forms to create unique and immersive decorative products. - **Nostalgic Design Elements:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Tap into people's sense of nostalgia by creating products that incorporate familiar sounds and experiences to evoke positive emotions. ### Who This Affects Most - **Glass Blowing:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Integrate technology and modern design into traditional glass blowing processes to create innovative and visually striking glass artworks. - **Holiday Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Infuse smart technology, such as audio recording or motion sensing, into holiday decorations to elevate the festive experience and engage consumers in new ways. - **Art and Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore the intersection of art and technology to create unique and interactive artworks that evoke emotional responses and challenge traditional artistic mediums. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Cutout Christmas Tree Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/christmas-tree-display.md) - [Geometric Outdoor Decor](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/colored-glass-wind-chime.md) - [Sparkling Illuminated Festive Wreaths](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/starry-wreath.md) - [Illusory Snow Globe Decorations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/invisible-snow-globe.md) - [Illuminated Christmas Tree Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/all-lit-up.md) - [Snowglobe-Inspired Dynamic Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/time-to-snow.md) - [Charitable Christmas Decoration](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/charitable-christmas-decoration.md) - [Customizable Holiday Decorations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/merry-sparkles-outdoor-decor.md) - [Sculpted Holiday Candles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pastel-palette.md)
