# Wooden Giraffe Lamps These Wooden Table Lamps Use Colorful Lampshades for a Giraffe's Head By Ady Floyd | Published 2015-10-19 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/giraffes-head References: [retaildesignblog.net](http://retaildesignblog.net/2015/10/19/giffy-177-table-lamp-by-leanter/) & [leanter](http://www.leanter.com/) Designer Markus Oder of 'Leanter' created a line of [animal-mimicking lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tiki-lamp), which transforms lampshades into a giraffe's head. These lamps are [made of wood](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wooden-soul) and [designed to sit atop a desk](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/leda). The lamp's small size makes the animal motif an adorably suitable approach. Using the the giraffe's legs as the lamp stand, the body and neck feature holes that are designed to represent the spots on a giraffe. The giraffe's head is made of a metal lamp shade, which has an uncanny resemblance to the head of a real creature. Since the lampshade is at the top of the light, the wire that connects to the bulb weaves down the neck and spine using the holes to neatly weave and tuck away the cord. This series titled 'Giffy' contains various colored shades. Each lamp is about 45 centimeters high and 17 centimeters wide. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.1/10 - Popularity: 82% | Activity: 62% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Animal-inspired Lamps:** Explore the potential for other animal-inspired lamps that bring a touch of whimsy to interior spaces. - **Wooden Design Trends:** Discover opportunities for incorporating wooden elements into various products and designs, adding warmth and natural appeal. - **Wire Management Solutions:** Identify ways to creatively incorporate wire management techniques into products, minimizing clutter and enhancing aesthetics. ### Where This Applies - **Home Decor:** Consider incorporating animal-themed lamps into home decor collections, appealing to customers seeking unique and playful design elements. - **Furniture:** Integrate wooden design trends into furniture pieces, combining functionality, aesthetics, and a natural touch to attract eco-conscious consumers. - **Lighting:** Develop wire management solutions for lighting fixtures, offering a seamless and visually appealing way to keep cords organized and hidden. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Hanging Lantern-Like Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/woodo-table-lamp.md) - [Wooden Sustainable Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/woodo.md) - [Sculptural Wooden Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arc-lamp.md) - [Colorful Geometric Desk Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spot-on-desk.md) - [Plant-Inspired Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/palmetto-lamp.md) - [Twisting Timber Lampshade Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/twisted-lasercut-wooden-lampshade.md) - [Mushroom-Inspired Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/humble-lights.md) - [Gothic Wooden Desk Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gothic-table-lamp.md) - [Sculpted Wooden Desktop Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sleepy-wood-desk-lamp.md)
