In all seriousness, it makes sense that a floor lamp's design would take inspiration from a giraffe's neck since floor lamps have such a naturally long structural shape. The giraffe lamp functions with an [adjustable scissor body](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ovo-lamp). At the bottom of the scissor is a lever that you can crank to shorten or lengthen the lamp's size. The entire body of the lamp actually resembles a real giraffe with the lamp shade as the head, the scissor as the neck and the wooden stands as legs. An interesting way to show off your [love for animals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grejsimojs), the giraffe lamp makes a perfect addition to any room in the house. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.9/10 - Popularity: 70% | Activity: 39% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Adjustable Floor Lamps:** Opportunity for creating adjustable floor lamps inspired by animals or nature, offering customizable and unique lighting solutions. - **Animal-inspired Home Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity to design home decor items, such as lamps, inspired by animals and their natural forms. - **Scissor Body Design:** Opportunity to incorporate scissor-inspired designs into various products, allowing for adjustability and versatility in form. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Lighting Design:** Innovative designs in lighting industry, providing adjustable and animal-inspired lamps for residential and commercial spaces. - **Home Decor:** Animal-inspired home decor industry with a focus on unique and customizable products that enhance room aesthetics. - **Furniture Design:** Opportunity for incorporating adjustable scissor body designs in furniture, introducing versatile and space-saving solutions for consumers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Bamboo Forest-Inspired Floor Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lightbone.md) - [Cutesy Coiled Floor Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-helix-lamp.md) - [Recycled Leather Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/corium-standing-floor-lamp.md) - [Sculptural Wooden Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arc-lamp.md) - [Creature-Like Floor Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-pink-robots-won.md) - [Sculptural Connected Floor Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-led-floor-lamp.md) - [Umbrella-Inspired Whimsical Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wasaga-lamp.md) - [Street Light-Inspired Floor Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/standing-lamp-marble.md) - [Contemporary Modular Floor Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/point-floor-lamp.md)
