LED lights are used to illuminate the web like glistening dew. The sculpture spans the entire area of Liverpool’'s Exchange Flags. It's probably not a good place to visit for arachnophobics. The Chinese architect designer was inspired by the spider, one of nature's master architect. Ai Weiwei was Herzog and de Meuron’s collaborator on Beijing’s ‘Bird’s Nest’ Olympic Stadium. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.3/10 - Popularity: 36% | Activity: 24% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/architecture) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Crystal Spider Installations:** Opportunity for artists to create immersive art experiences using crystal-studded spider sculptures and LED lights. - **Illuminated Sculptures:** Demand for large-scale illuminated sculptures in public spaces as a way to engage and captivate audiences. - **Nature-inspired Art:** Rise in art installations inspired by natural elements and their architectural beauty, providing a fresh perspective on the natural world. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Art and Design:** Artists and designers can leverage crystal spider installations to create unique and visually stunning art pieces. - **Event Planning and Decor:** Opportunity for event planners and decorators to incorporate illuminated sculptures into events for a captivating visual experience. - **Tourism and Hospitality:** Hotels, resorts, and tourist attractions can use nature-inspired art installations to enhance the guest experience and create memorable spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Cage-Inspired Arch Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ai-weiweis-work.md) - [Permanent London Art Installtions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/infinite-accumulation.md) - [Lightning-Inspired Artful Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bright-light-shining.md) - [Immersive Crystal Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/immersive-crystal-installation.md) - [Thematic Large-Scale Light Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spooky-at-illumi.md) - [Vibrant City Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/craig-karl2.md) - [Future-Facing Sculptural Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eye-of-the-future.md) - [Intricate Lighting Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/objects-of-common-interest1.md) - [Statement Street Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/surreal-street-art-1.md)
