# Destructive Giant Lizard Playgrounds This Giant Godzilla Playground in Japan is Mutated Lizard Fun By Andrew Sztein | Published 2013-04-26 | Life-Stages Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/giant-lizard References: [kotaku](http://kotaku.com/japan-has-a-giant-godzilla-you-can-play-with-480409705) & [kanagawaparks](http://www.kanagawaparks.com/kurihama-perry/) This [giant lizard playground](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-boulder-park) in the likeness of everyone's [favorite city destroying mutant](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/c4-ultimate-energy-x-godzilla) is something that is a must-see on a visit to Japan, especially if you find yourself around Kurihama Flower Park. The giant Godzilla structure is more than just a tribute to one of cinema's most enduring film series, it's actually a [climbable playground](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wired-scape) that accomplishes two goals at once. The first is creating a suitable tribute to the giant lizard. the second goal is making me insanely jealous of any Japanese children who get to grow up around what is by default the greatest playground ever. The Godzilla playground actually lets people climb inside (via Godzilla's crotch) and use the long tail as a slide. The playground is nine meters tall, and weighs over five tons. It's a good thing that there's no cities or giant moths nearby, or things might get really crazy at the Godzilla playground. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.4/10 - Popularity: 26% | Activity: 9% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial - Top markets: North America, South America, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Life-Stages](https://www.trendhunter.com/life-stages) > [Youth](https://www.trendhunter.com/youth) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Interactive Playgrounds:** Opportunity to create interactive playgrounds that incorporate popular film or cultural references. - **Larger-than-life Structures:** Disruptive innovation opportunity to design and build larger-than-life structures that attract visitors and provide unique experiences. - **Immersive Play Experiences:** Opportunity to develop immersive play experiences that engage children in imaginative and creative ways. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Entertainment:** The entertainment industry can leverage the concept of giant themed playgrounds to offer unique experiences to visitors and attract larger audiences. - **Tourism:** The tourism industry can explore the creation of landmark structures and attractions, like the giant Godzilla playground, to enhance the tourism experience and draw more visitors. - **Playground Equipment:** The playground equipment industry can capitalize on the demand for innovative and creative play structures that cater to children's imagination and provide engaging play experiences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Generational-Lasting Dynamic Playgrounds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mike-hewson-2.md) - [Explorative Artwork Playground Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-cuddly-playground.md) - [Structural Energetic Playgrounds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/archipelago-playscape.md) - [Beastly QSR Burger Menus](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/godzilla-burgers.md) - [Landmark-Inspired Sleek Playgrounds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/doha-modern-playground.md) - [Heritage Sound Playgrounds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hornscape-playground.md) - [Public Playground Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/welcome-little-stranger.md) - [Futuristic Glowing Playgrounds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/joya-1.md) - [Film Anniversary Popcorn Buckets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/godzilla-popcorn-bucket.md)
