Designers Thomas Perz and Petrus Gartler of Designerei Graz designed this bench to add a little [artistic flair and modern design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/us-her-him) to the usually drab and dull [public park benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/urban-bench). The GETIER Bench comes with a short chain that prevents thieves from taking off with it and allows the user a small bit of control over which way they sit. The GETIER Bench took top prize in a recent '[Design in Public Spaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/strate-bench)' competition so there's a good chance that you'll see this bench in your local park sooner rather than later. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.4/10 - Popularity: 31% | Activity: 33% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Theft-proof Benches:** Opportunity for designers to create innovative and secure outdoor seating solutions. - **Artistic Public Seating:** Designers can incorporate artistic flair into benches to enhance the aesthetics of public spaces. - **User-controlled Benches:** Designers can explore seating designs that offer users the ability to adjust seating positions. ### Who This Affects Most - **Outdoor Furniture:** Companies in the outdoor furniture industry can develop theft-proof benches to meet the growing demand for secure public seating. - **Public Space Design:** Opportunity for architects and designers to incorporate artistic and innovative benches into their public space designs. - **Urban Planning:** Urban planners can utilize user-controlled benches to provide flexibility and adaptability in public seating arrangements. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Dual-Seated Plate Aluminum Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/move-a-little-bit-further.md) - [Tree-Intertwined Metal Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tenir-bench.md) - [Antitheft Storage Seating Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/afford-chair.md) - [Seesaw-Like Playful Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/balance-bench.md) - [Threshold Bench Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/torii.md) - [Modular Outdoor Space Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mass-public-bench.md) - [Sleek Public Seating Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/leftover-bench.md) - [Dual Sculpture Seating Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/immaterial-0001.md) - [Muscle Loss-Combating Playground Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/playground-bench.md)
