# USB ID Tags PCPetID Gets Fido Home in a Flash By Lisa Woody | Published 2008-03-28 | Lifestyle Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/get-fido-home-in-a-flash-this-id-tag-goes-in-a-usb-drive References: [pcpetid](http://www.pcpetid.com/) If you're one of those "pet parents" who can't shut up about your dog or cat, now there's an ID tag made just for you. Why be limited to your dog's name and your phone number when you can put tons of information on a [flash drive](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/phototag) and hang it on your [dog's collar](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fi-series-3-plus)? The **PCPetID** is enclosed in a waterproof capsule that takes the place of the [old-school metal tag](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lost-and-found-id-tag). If your dog should run away, whoever finds her can plug the tag into any computer USB port and find out your vet's name, address and phone number, plus food allergies, medication requirements, brand of food, favorite treats, photos and whether Mommy's single. Hey, you could meet someone great, get your dog back and have a great story to tell. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.0/10 - Popularity: 63% | Activity: 49% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Pets](https://www.trendhunter.com/pets) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Personalized Pet ID Tags:** Opportunity to innovate by offering customizable pet ID tags that store extensive information on a flash drive. - **Usb-enabled Pet Tracking:** Opportunity to develop USB-enabled pet tracking systems that provide comprehensive information to help locate lost pets. - **Digital Pet Identification:** Opportunity to create digital pet identification solutions that use USB technology to store and retrieve pet information. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Pet Products:** Disruption opportunity for pet product companies to develop USB-based ID tags and related pet tracking systems. - **Technology:** Disruption opportunity for technology companies to create innovative USB storage and tracking solutions for pet owners. - **Digital Identity Management:** Disruption opportunity for digital identity management companies to enter the pet identification market with USB-based solutions. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Personalized Pet-Tracking Tags](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/personalized-dog-tracker-findmy.md) - [QR Code Pet Tags](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pawscout.md) - [Modern Pet Tagging](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/qr-tag-system.md) - [QR-Code Pet Tracking Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ring-pet-tag.md) - [Pet Safety Collars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pet-safety.md) - [RFID-Enhanced Pet Feeders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/one-rfid-pet-feeder.md) - [Digital Canine Caretakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pupfi.md) - [GPS Pet Trackers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/petcube-gps-tracker.md) - [AI Canine Health Collars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cotons-ai-lifetrack-collar.md)
