The interface uses a projection-based system and one camera to track user movements, allowing the system to detect what the user wants to do. Hitachi says they hope that gesture-based interfaces will become more mainstream (by mid-2011) and be incorporated into advertising, [digital signage](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/innovating-a-brighter-life), and medical applications.
