Wallenpaupack Brewing Company, a highly regarded brewery situated in the borough of Hawley in Pennsylvania, has launched a unique German-style lager that is designed to showcase the oft-neglected flavor qualities of lagers, which are often unfairly derided by those beer connoisseurs who prefer to gravitate towards IPAs, funky sours and boozier dark brews.

The Zwickelbier is a completely unfiltered German-style lager brewed with noble hops and Vienna malt. The brewing recipe including a decoction mashing process that enables a marvelously malty tasting beer with subtle nutty notes that happens to be eminently crushable but can also be gently savored over a longer period of time.

Released as the first of Wallenpaupack Brewing Company's 'For the Love of Lager' series, the Zwickelbier proves that lagers have always been and can continue to remain complex and delicious when brewed the right way.
