A while back we featured an article about a George Lucas sculpture made out of carbonite. The makers of the cakes in this gallery were inspired by the monument. It may look like a pile of grey mush, but I find the concept amusing, especially since the last thing I thought of when I saw the George Lucas sculpture was, "this would make a [great cake design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/artful-cake)." It clearly does not, but I offer thebakers full makes for effort. On my travels around the web, I also found Jar Jar in carbonite and the awesome Han Solo in Carbonite [Lego](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gingerbread-atat-walker) model all pictured. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.8/10 - Popularity: 8% | Activity: 8% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Food](https://www.trendhunter.com/food) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Geek-inspired Cakes:** Expert bakers can tap into geek fandoms and create eye-catching cakes that attract customers. - **Sculptural Cake Designs:** Cake designers can explore new shapes and perspectives to create appealing sculptures out of cake. - **Nostalgic Pop Culture Cakes:** Creating cakes that pay homage to iconic characters from the past can attract a specific clientele. ### Where This Applies - **Bakery:** Bakeries that can produce unique cake designs have an opportunity to stand out in a highly competitive market. - **Event Planning:** Event planners can offer clients more creative cake options, attracting a different kind of clientele. - **Entertainment Industry:** Cake designers can create cakes based on popular movies, TV shows, and video games for promotions, events, and parties. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sci-Fi-Themed Donut Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pinkbox-doughnuts-star-wars-day.md) - [Festive Sci-Fi Building Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gingerbread-atat-walker.md) - [Playful Space-Themed Desserts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spacethemed-dessert.md) - [Game-Themed Cake Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/among-us-impostor-cake.md) - [Sci-Fi Franchise Logo Puzzles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brickbuilt-star-wars-logo.md) - [Galactic Cafe Experiences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/Star-wars-themed-cafe.md) - [Cardboard-Resembling Illusion Cakes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cardboard-cake.md) - [Hand-Knit Sci-Fi Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/handknit-scifi-sculpture.md) - [Sci-Fi-Honoring Toy Puzzle Books](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/force-of-creativity.md)
