# City Landscape-Inspired Storage This Geometric Shelving Takes After City Skylines By Mishal Omar | Published 2016-06-06 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/geometric-shelving References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2016/06/02/decor-for-super-mario/) & [minustio.se](http://www.minustio.se/) This geometric shelving brings to mind buildings and city skylines. Designed by Ingrid & Olle Wingard for Minus tio, these storage products provide a [minimal but chic aesthetic](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-grid) to the home. The geometric shelving is quite simple in its concept -- being made from a singular wire that is manipulated into various shapes -- but each black or white design looks like an outline of a city. The shelving would be perfectly placed by the front door, in a bedroom, closet or even a restroom. They can hold an abundance of items including purses, books, hats, coats, towels and accessories. The fact that these [small storage units](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tamo) are also fashionable makes them the perfect product to display items that also have an aesthetically pleasing look. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.3/10 - Popularity: 73% | Activity: 17% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Geometric Shelving:** The trend of using geometric shelving inspired by city skylines offers opportunities for innovative storage solutions. - **Minimal Design:** The trend of minimal and chic aesthetic in home decor creates opportunities for simple yet stylish storage solutions. - **Functional Fashion:** The trend of fashionable storage units allows for the display of aesthetically pleasing items while providing practical storage. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Home Decor:** The home decor industry can leverage the trend of geometric shelving to offer unique and visually appealing storage solutions. - **Furniture:** The furniture industry can explore the trend of minimal design to create functional and stylish storage options. - **Fashion Accessories:** The fashion accessories industry can benefit from the trend of fashionable storage units that combine practicality and style. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Japanese Woodwork-Inspired Shelving Units](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/altitude-shelving.md) - [Living Storage Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/treevive.md) - [Dynamic Storage-Display Shelves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shelf-life.md) - [Modular Bent-Metal Storage](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sfso-1.md) - [Modular Organized Shelving Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/unit-shelving-system.md) - [Abstract Jigsaw-Like Shelving](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spectator-shelf.md) - [L-Shaped Stacked Shelving](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loft-shelf.md) - [Adaptable Flat-Pack Shelving](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flat-pack-shelving.md) - [Colorful Modular Storage Sysem](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/center-center-storage.md)
