# Suspended Geometric Planters These Hanging Planters are Designed to Hold Succulents By Ell Smith | Published 2017-08-03 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/geometric-planters References: [contemporist](http://www.contemporist.com/fernweh-woodworking-hanging-geometric-wood-planters/) & [fernwehwoodworking](https://fernwehwoodworking.com/) These wooden geometric planters are the perfect alternative to run-of-the-mill tabletop vases. A woodworker who functions under the name 'Fernweh Woodworking' designed these planters that are beautiful enough on their own to be displayed, even without flora. Made from solid pieces of wood, these modern planters were inspired by the mountains and forests that surround the artist's studio. Each planter was designed to hold a small arrangement, like a [succulent or an air plant](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/trader-joes-mini-can-foliage), making for a low-maintenance alternative to complicated floral arrangements. The designs are intended to [hang from a ceiling](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nature-inspired-pendant-light), giving the user the ability to infuse any room with greenery, without the space limitations of [tabletop plants](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/posha). This user-friendly design would best suit a novice gardener -- someone who is seeking a low-maintenance solution to the lack of greenery in their home. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.2/10 - Popularity: 88% | Activity: 59% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Geometric Planters:** Opportunity for designers to create unique geometric planters that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing. - **Suspended Planters:** Chance for entrepreneurs to develop innovative hanging planters that can add greenery to small spaces. - **Low-maintenance Gardening:** Potential for companies to create and market planters that cater to the needs of novice gardeners seeking easy-to-maintain greenery. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Home Decor:** Potential for home decor companies to incorporate modern, geometric planters into their product offerings. - **Gardening:** Opportunity for the gardening industry to create innovative solutions for adding greenery in limited spaces. - **Sustainable Living:** Chances for sustainable living companies to develop and promote low-maintenance gardening solutions as part of their eco-friendly product lineup. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Illusory Planter Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rooted-planter.md) - [Demure Dual-Function Hanging Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/light-fixture-planter.md) - [Water Catch-Integrated Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hemisphere.md) - [Vertical Workstation Wall Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ceramic-wall-planter.md) - [Futuristic Self-Watering Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-klaustrafloria.md) - [Handle-Equipped Planter Shelves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimalist-plant-shelf.md) - [Chic Staggered Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/staggered-planters.md) - [Self-Watering Desk Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/posha.md) - [Luxurious Minimalist Planter Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimalist-planter-set.md)
