# Contemporary Geometric Architecture Mustard Architects & and Extended a Beautiful London Home By Kalin Ned | Published 2018-02-20 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/geometric-architecture1 References: [dezeen](https://www.dezeen.com/2018/02/18/mustard-architects-edwardian-house-extension-architecture-angular-gable-london-uk/) & [mustardarchitects](http://mustardarchitects.com/projects/taper-house) East London studio Mustard Architects were commissioned to renovate the property of an Edwardian house in West London and the firm utilized a geometric architecture approach with "angular glazed doors set into [an] asymmetric gabled facade." Borrowing structural elements and motifs from Brutalist architecture and combining them with white paint and light-transparent design, the studio is successful in creating a contemporary exterior and interior. Extremely detail-oriented, Mustard Architects abides by strict planning restrictions, while simultaneously creating a beautiful harmony between the [exposed "sculptural qualities"](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flat-iron-house) of "the steelwork, joists and rafters." The geometric architecture is contained within the structure of the angled hallway that ends with an open concept kitchen, dinning space and a comfortable snug area.
