# Portable Cup Casings Geode by Industrial Drinkware Instantly Makes Your Beverage Travel-Friendly By Amelia Roblin | Published 2012-12-13 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/geode-by-industrial-drinkware References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2012/12/13/the-glass-saver/) & [industrialdrinkware](http://industrialdrinkware.com/?page_id=51) You might be wondering what makes the Geode by Industrial Drinkware so unique -- it comes across as a fairly standard-looking thermos for your morning coffee or tea. What you don't immediately see, however, is that there are three distinctive parts to the [travel mug](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tetra), optimizing it for a variety of situations. Designer Ryan Savage imagines that one would use the inner portion of the canteen on a daily basis. This is simply a [tall colorful drinking glass](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/podio-cup) that one would keep in the cupboard with the others. If your beverage is hot, slip the vessel into the [insulating casing](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/puffin-drinkware). If you find yourself suddenly having to run out the door, the Geode by Industrial Drinkware has a lid to make it mobile. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.9/10 - Popularity: 87% | Activity: 81% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Modular Drinkware Systems:** Multi-functional drinkware designs that adapt to different usage scenarios. - **Sustainable Travel Mugs:** Eco-friendly and reusable travel mugs that reduce waste and promote sustainability. - **Customizable Beverage Containers:** Drinkware that allows users to personalize their cups with different colors and patterns. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Product Design:** Designers can explore creative ways to develop multi-functional and eco-friendly drinkware. - **Retail:** Retailers can offer customers personalized and sustainable beverage containers to take on the go. - **Hospitality:** Hotels and restaurants can provide guests with modular drinkware systems that offer versatile and customizable options. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Travel-Ready Cocktail Cups](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/high-camp-tumbler-set.md) - [Designer Glass Coffee Carriers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ember-cold-tumbler.md) - [Multifunctional Drinking Bottles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/keepcup-bottle.md) - [Coffee-Cooling Travel Mugs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beverage-tumbler.md) - [Expandable Modular Tumbler Cups](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eureka-tumbler.md) - [Desk Thermo Tumblers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alessi-buri-tumbler.md) - [Twisting Coffee Brewing Mugs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/qterra-craft-travel-brewer.md) - [Pocket-Sized Collapsible Coffee Cups](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zerowaste-cup.md) - [Collapsible Folding Carrier Cups](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/origami-cup.md)
