This genome testing equipment redesign will have you rethinking what lab equipment looks like. You probably didn't think it was going to be purple.

Designed by Yves Behar's Fuseproject, this [cell-scanning device](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cell-analyzer) is called Juno and was developed by biotech firm Fluidigm. Juno can eject a tray and accept samples at the push of a button. It combines different chemicals with heat to test [DNA fingerprints](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/illumina-inc). Intended for professional labs, the [genome testing gadget](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/molecular-testing-platform) helps determine things like if a person has a genetic disease or the makeup of a seed. Rather than using multiple machines for different steps of the process, Juno can complete genetic testing with a simple button press.

Yves Behar explains "the world of science and innovation deserves the same kind of design, attention, branding and experience as consumer products."
