Once dissected, the photographs are edited to resemble planets, stars and unexplored space mounds. This visually striking image series is titled 'Space Cakes and Indulgence - Food Weather.' The series includes matcha treats that are photo-shopped to resemble Saturn and its rings along with sugary cakes that melt to reveal glacial elements. Furthermore, cracked cakes with white icing resemble rough and mountainous planet textures while a handful of caviar is cleverly shaped to take on the form of a large ocean wave. Borrowing his visual inspiration from the cosmos, art director Gem Fletcher plays with perception while experimenting with food in a fun way. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.1/10 - Popularity: 25% | Activity: 31% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Conceptual Food Photography:** There is an opportunity to create visually striking food images that play with perception and experiment with different elements. - **Cosmic-inspired Food Styling:** Exploring the use of space-themed elements in food styling can create unique and eye-catching culinary experiences. - **Dissected Food Art:** Creating artful compositions by dissecting food and transforming it into representations of celestial objects presents an innovative approach to food photography. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Food Photography:** Photographers and stylists in the food industry can leverage conceptual and cosmic-inspired techniques to create visually captivating images for marketing purposes. - **Food Styling:** Food stylists can explore the use of space-themed elements and innovative techniques to create visually stunning presentations for restaurants and events. - **Art Direction:** Art directors can push the boundaries of food photography by incorporating dissection and cosmic-inspired aesthetics to create unique visual narratives. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Space-Themed Cupcake Mixes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/galaxy-cupcakes-mix.md) - [Cosmically Inspired Ice Creams](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/punk-stargonaut.md) - [Design-Centric Dynamic Artful Cakes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/artful-cake.md) - [Jet Black Dessert Concept](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/opaque-2.md) - [Candy-Like Colorful Glass Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gele-series.md) - [Galactic Sandwich Cookies](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oreo-space-dunk.md) - [Freeze-Dried Ice Cream Bites](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/coco-fro.md) - [Unique Artistic Books](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/amusebouche.md) - [Galactic Atmosphere Restaurants](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spacevip.md)
