# Surreal Child Sculptures Gehard Demetz Portrays Kids in his Unique Creations By Rose Nazarali | Published 2009-09-24 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gehard-demtez References: [thejailbreak](http://thejailbreak.com/2009/09/23/gehard-demetz/) & [geharddemetz](http://www.geharddemetz.com/index.htm) Gehard Demetz has put together this set of child sculptures to portray a captivating and unique view. The kids in the sculptures are in unusual poses, including a girl taking scissors to her tie, a boy holding out his kitchen glove-covered hands and a girl tied up in yellow tape. The messages contained within these sculptures seems slightly skewed and up to the viewer to decide. The jagged edges and hard lines give Gehard Demetz’s sculptures a tense and bitter feel.
