# Geeky Stained Glass Window Designs by Nerds By Cowbag | Published 2008-08-27 | Unique Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/geeky-stained-glass-when-nerds-design-windows References: [deputy-dog](http://deputy-dog.com/2008/07/23/when-geeks-and-stained-glass-collide/) & [starwarsblog.starwars](http://starwarsblog.starwars.com/index.php/2008/08/08/the-stained-glass-darth-vader-story/) Stained glass seems to be making a comeback, but it's not ordinary patterns, it's crazy features like shagging skeletons and wild street art. This gallery shows what happens when [geeks do stained glass](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/geeks-rule-hellsing). My problem with these examples is that the images are crappy. A beautifully done Darth Vader, or storm trooper, would look amazing. The Darth Vader that is featured here (look for the triangle head) most certainly isn't a stunning creation. I am sorry, but it really is spectacularly rubbish, even with the really long story behind its design. Others such as the digdug machine and [pixel window](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/look-mum-no-uv) clearly rule. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.5/10 - Popularity: 54% | Activity: 14% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Unique](https://www.trendhunter.com/unique) > [Bizarre](https://www.trendhunter.com/bizarre) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Geeky Stained Glass Designs:** Opportunity for glassmakers to create stained glass designs inspired by geek culture and pop art. - **Artistic Innovation in Stained Glass:** Opportunity for artists and designers to push the boundaries of traditional stained glass, showcasing unique designs and concepts. - **Personalized Stained Glass Art:** Opportunity for stained glass makers to create custom pieces tailored to individual clients with specific tastes and preferences. ### Who This Affects Most - **Glassmaking Industry:** The glassmaking industry can innovate by creating stained glass designs inspired by pop culture to keep up with changing consumer trends. - **Art and Design Industry:** Opportunity for artists to challenge traditional notions of stained glass and incorporate new inspirations to create unique designs. - **Craft Industry:** Opportunity for craftspeople to tap into the popularity of personalized art and offer customized stained glass pieces for a niche market. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Digital Archetype Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/christian-rex-van-minnen-1.md) - [Hand-Knit Sci-Fi Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/handknit-scifi-sculpture.md) - [Sci-Fi-Inspired Classical Posters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sen-donnan.md) - [Scientifically-Accurate Glass Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/glass-microbiology.md) - [AI-Generated Retrofuturistic Objects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/retrofuturistic-objects.md) - [Glass Geometry Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/glass-collection.md) - [Retro Space-Themed Puzzled Posters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/john-carter.md) - [Colorful Retro Pixel Mirrors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paint-mirror.md) - [Otherworldly Window Cleaners](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/glarc-window-cleaner.md)
