The announcement came from the company's CEO, Ola Källenius. An electric G-Class SUV follows the company’s current direction, as previously Mercedes-Benz stated that it would have electric versions of all of its cars by the year 2022. This is due to the fact that changing the vehicle to run on a battery often increases its weight, and conventional SUVs are already heavy.
