The Social Gas Mask designed by Zlil Lazarovich demonstrates how an [air purifying mask](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/airglow) can be more streamlined and less terrifying. If you are in a situation where a gas mask is necessary, of course it will be dangerous and therefore fear-inducing. This gas mask design recognizes this and combats it with a large eye piece to look out of, cheek air filters and a small mouth opening. It is created this way so people can console each other and get through the difficult time together, according to [Yanko Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/expand-furniture). By [facilitating communication between people](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/inxects-vest), the Social Gas Mask is an empowering take on a doomsday device. The simple design is also likely to put people at ease, compared to ones with big bulky parts. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.1/10 - Popularity: 61% | Activity: 83% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Streamlined Gas Mask Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop sleek and less intimidating gas mask designs to improve user experience and ease fears in dangerous scenarios. - **Facilitated Communication:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Integrate communication features into gas masks to enable conversation and support between individuals in high-risk situations. - **User Comfort and Ease:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Design gas masks with ergonomic features and comfortable components to enhance wearer comfort during dangerous scenarios. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Safety Equipment Manufacturing:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Apply advanced materials and design principles to revolutionize the production of gas masks and other protective gear. - **Emergency Response and Preparedness:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop next-generation gas masks specifically tailored for emergency response teams to maximize communication and situational awareness. - **Public Health and Safety:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Collaborate with public health organizations to enhance personal protective equipment, such as gas masks, to effectively mitigate health hazards in hazardous environments. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Aerodynamic Filtration Face Masks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/goa-face-protector.md) - [Air-Blowing Face Masks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/air-mask.md) - [Future-Focused Air-Filtering Suits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/voice-in-sight.md) - [Emotive Inflatable Masks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lian-mask.md) - [Voice-Quieting Face Masks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/voiceabsorbing-face-mask.md) - [Air-Controlling VR Masks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/airres-mask.md) - [Face Mask-Made Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/anonymlux-lamp.md) - [See-Through Medical Device Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cyberpunk-inhaler.md) - [Playful Medical Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zoobree-nebulizer.md)
