This quirky design, created by La Firme, takes a lighter approach to modern-day lamps. The iconic propane tank is cut in half and used as the lamp’s shade and connected to it is the switch that takes form of a [giant match](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/analog-lamps-1). It’s a combination for an explosion but rest assured, it’s just a cute and fun design that won’t involve anything like the scenes from Rambo. The idea of the Gas Lamp is for people to take an in-depth look at the evolution of lighting sources from [candles to flashlights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magma-lamp) to chic contemporary lamps. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.5/10 - Popularity: 52% | Activity: 46% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Quirky Lighting Designs:** There is an opportunity for companies to create fun and playful designs for lighting fixtures to capture customers' attention. - **Use of Unconventional Materials:** Incorporating unique materials to create lighting fixtures, such as propane tanks, can differentiate a company's products in the market. - **Nostalgic Design:** There is a demand for designs that reference past lighting sources while incorporating modern technology. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Home Decor Industry:** Businesses in this industry can leverage quirky lighting designs to liven up their products and create a unique selling point. - **Lighting Industry:** Companies in this industry can explore the use of unconventional materials to differentiate their products from competitors and stand out in the market. - **Sustainable Design Industry:** This industry can incorporate propane tanks that would otherwise go to waste to create innovative lighting fixtures, promoting a sustainable approach to design. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Digitized Gas Lamp Lanterns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/auge-camping-lantern.md) - [Archetypal Conical Light Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fragile-lamp.md) - [Oversized Pen Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bic-lamp.md) - [Minimal Modern Oil Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fire-capsule-oil-lamp.md) - [Hollow Candle-Like Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lampe.md) - [Sustainable Solar Portable Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/iggy-lamp.md) - [Inflatable Mood Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blow-lamp.md) - [Naturally Inspired Digital Candles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magma-lamp.md) - [Vintage-Inspired Candle Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vintageinspired-candle-lamps.md)
