# Masterful Mega Block Buildings 'Garrison of Moriah' is a Structure Made from 250,000 LEGO Pieces By Corinne Guirgis | Published 2011-06-08 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/garrison-of-moriah References: [odditycentral](http://www.odditycentral.com/news/man-builds-impressive-250000-lego-brick-mega-structure.html) & [wired](http://www.wired.co.uk/news/archive/2011-05/25/giant-lego-construction) The Garrison of Moriah structure, built by [LEGO](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rivendell-set) enthusiast Gerry Burrows, is an almost inspirational structure made of over 250,000 blocks. Imagine building a LEGO structure so large it required its own room to house it! Inspired by fantasy buildings featured in sagas like *[Star Wars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brickbuilt-star-wars-logo)* and *The Lord of the Rings*, the amazing structure is apparently still a work in progress. Burrows says, "It’s still growing. The bridge isn’t complete, nor is the other end of the bridge. And I’m building a fleet of [custom ships](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-icons-set)." The most astonishing part about the structure? It required very little planning on behalf of the LEGO master! He made no initial plans on paper or computer, but simply started assembling the bricks. I certainly hope the LEGO room Burrows set out for this architectural masterpiece is big enough for his still-expanding project! ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.6/10 - Popularity: 43% | Activity: 56% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 90% men, 10% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Mega Block Construction:** Companies can explore the use of large building blocks to disrupt traditional construction methods. - **Fantasy-inspired Architecture:** Real estate developers can capitalize on the growing interest in fantasy architecture to create unique and innovative buildings. - **Freeform Building:** New software tools can be developed to enable users to create digital models for freeform building without the need for advanced planning. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Construction:** Construction companies can explore the use of large building blocks to disrupt traditional construction methods. - **Real Estate:** Real estate developers can capitalize on the growing interest in fantasy architecture to create unique and innovative buildings. - **Software Development:** Software developers can create new tools to enable users to create digital models for freeform building without the need for advanced planning. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Intricate Magical Puzzle Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rivendell-set.md) - [Sci-Fi Tower-Inspired Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/baraddr.md) - [Fantasy Series Building Blocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-shire-set.md) - [Medieval Building Block Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lion-knights-castle.md) - [Festive Brick Toy Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/whoville-moc.md) - [Building Block Chess Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-tower-chess-set.md) - [Game Villain Building Blocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mighty-bowser.md) - [Modular Puzzle Building Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arkham-asylum-set.md) - [Whimsical Castle-Like Brick Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beauty-and-the-beast-castle.md)
