Even though cities have been trying to step up their environmentally friendly game, Singapore has just taken it to a whole new level with the Gardens by the Bay project. Instead of focusing on introducing [more biodiversity and eco-conscious architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/greenpublic) in the city, it essentially plans to introduce a city into one [giant garden](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/henderson-art-garden). Thus, it is the [gardens and parks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/union-terrace-garden) that take precedence over the city itself.

Announced last year, the 1 billion Singaporean dollar (US $829 million) Gardens by the Bay project will revitalize the city in ways that only James Cameron could have dreamed up. Already a competitive and prosperous country, Singapore sets itself apart from like-minded societies by supporting its success with the continued reinforcement of sustainability.
