Dank Architectes renovated a 160-square-foot garden flat in Lyon into an [open-concept apartment](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/no-ordinary-house), titled 'Project Amou.' The architects tore down several partitions on the ground floor to optimize for space and moved a bedroom to the upper level. The laundry room and closet are contained in a separate volume, with bookshelves and a study area built into the external walls. The home boasts double-height living and dining rooms as well as [sliding glass doors for natural light](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/amsterdam-zuid).

But perhaps the most novel concept of the home was the way the architects chose to present it, staging it took look as though a raging party had taken place the night before. "Our idea was to try to make the architectural photos more alive by making the place look a little messier, contrasting with the [minimalist aspects of the architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimalist-cocoon) we designed," explained one architect. Indeed, the photos capture a pulsating energy of a home well-lived in.
