Designed by Mexican interior designer and architect Jaoquin Homsfor, the chair was created for the Point Furniture company. The chair features a dedicated aluminum frame that provides ample support for the [large shell-inspired seat](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-clam-chair). The hanging aesthetic allows the seat to provide a [soothing bit of motion](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oval-rocking-chair), while the retractable shell top can provide protection from the sun or a touch of privacy from those nearby. The Armadillo Swinging Garden Chair can be utilized either with or without the accompanying frame, which makes it great to hang from a tree or other solid structure for maximum design flexibility. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.6/10 - Popularity: 49% | Activity: 21% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Armadillo-inspired Design:** Opportunity for creating innovative products or structures inspired by the form and functionality of armadillos. - **Swinging Outdoor Furniture:** Disruptive opportunity to create outdoor seating options that provide both relaxation and gentle motion. - **Retractable Sun Protection:** Opportunity to develop products with retractable sunshades or privacy features for outdoor relaxation spaces. ### Where This Applies - **Outdoor Furniture:** Potential for introducing innovative armadillo-inspired designs to outdoor furniture collections. - **Architecture and Design:** Disruptive potential for incorporating armadillo-inspired structures in outdoor spaces and public installations. - **Garden and Landscape Design:** Opportunity for integrating swinging armadillo-inspired chairs into garden and landscape design projects. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Peaceful Geometric Hanging Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/iko-hanging-chair.md) - [Rope-Like Dynamic Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/caterpillar-lounge.md) - [Retro Outdoor High Armchairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/high-armchair.md) - [Dynamic Outdoor Upholstered Armchairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/africa-collection.md) - [Outdoor Lounging Rocking Hammocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/panama-banana.md) - [Soothing Boat-Like Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/canoa-chair.md) - [Childhood-Inspired Outdoor Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/peace-outdoor-lounge.md) - [Ultra-Precise Woven Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/woven-chair-design.md) - [Hammock-Inspired Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/palmera.md)
