# Game Boy Tablet Covers The Gamer iPad Sleeve is a Blast from the Handheld Gaming Past By Summer Luu | Published 2011-03-21 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gamer-ipad-sleeve References: [holycool.net](http://www.holycool.net/2011/03/gamer-ipad-sleeve.html) & [etsy](http://www.etsy.com/listing/69409421/gamer-ipad-sleeve) You’ll notice that there have been a lot of [Game Boy](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/game-boy-flip-concept) innovations that reinvent this retro gaming device for new-school toys, but the Gamer iPad Sleeve is the first that I’ve seen fitted for sleek tablets. The old-school 8-bit handheld gaming device has been used as the design of these iPad covers, keeping it snug and cozy in its two layers of soft felt. Just like the original Game Boy, it's got a gray screen, a black keypad, A and B buttons, and Start and Select keys. The inside is fully lined with grey felt so your tablet will slide in nicely without scratches. The Gamer iPad Sleeve keeps the iconic [Nintendo](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pocket-classic) games alive that we have all grown to love. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.0/10 - Popularity: 77% | Activity: 66% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Retro-inspired Tech Accessories:** Companies could explore opportunities in creating vintage-looking tech gear - **Gaming-inspired Tablet Covers:** Businesses can tap into the nostalgia of gamings past to create unique and fun products - **Innovative Tablet Protection:** The market for creative and innovative tablet protection is ripe for disruption ### Who This Affects Most - **Consumer Electronics:** Companies in the consumer electronics industry could benefit from creating gaming-inspired tech accessories - **Fashion and Accessories:** The fashion and accessories industry could explore collaborations or new product lines for retro-inspired tech gear - **E-commerce:** E-commerce platforms could showcase and sell these unique and innovative tech accessories to a broad audience ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Foldable Gaming Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/game-boy-flip-concept.md) - [Interactive Gaming Phone Cases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gaming-phone-case.md) - [Vibrant Retro Handheld Gaming](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pocket-classic.md) - [Projector-Equipped Handheld Gaming Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nintendo-game-boy-concept.md) - [Nostalgic Gamer Smartphone Wallets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/elago-game-boy-magsafe-wallet.md) - [Gaming-Inspired Smartphone Cases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/samsung-galaxy-z-flip-3-case.md) - [Nostalgic Mobile Gaming Adapters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/epilogue-gb-operator.md) - [Retro-Inspired Handheld Game Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sup-game-box-400.md) - [Retro Gaming Phone Cases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gamebaby.md)
