Tech designer John Godfroid constructed a controller add-on that will make game-play on such items as the [iPad](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hyperkin-x-gamesir-x5-alteron) and other Android tablets a liberating experience. Gamers no longer have to fuss about getting fingerprints all over their tablet screens or complain about the controls lacking the finesse and stability of the more advanced PlayStation or [XBox](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/elo-vagabond) controllers. The Gamepad for Tablets slightly resembles the control panel on a [PSP](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/playstation-portable) (PlayStation Portable System). It latches onto the sides of the portable device and connects wirelessly using Bluetooth. Once hooked up, games on the tablet that use directional buttons become a breeze, making game-play better for flying, driving, or role playing games that were nearly impossible to navigate beforehand. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.2/10 - Popularity: 26% | Activity: 61% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Wireless Game Controllers:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop game controllers that can be wirelessly connected to various portable devices, improving the gaming experience on tablets and smartphones. - **Controller Add-ons:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create controller add-ons that enhance the control capabilities of portable devices, allowing for more advanced and immersive gameplay. - **Bluetooth Connectivity:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Design Bluetooth connectivity technology that enables seamless wireless connection between portable devices and external gaming controllers, eliminating the need for physical attachments. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Gaming:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop new gaming accessories and peripherals that improve the gaming experience on portable devices. - **Mobile Technology:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Integrate advanced control capabilities into mobile devices, blurring the line between portable gaming consoles and smartphones/tablets. - **Consumer Electronics:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore the development of innovative wireless technologies and accessories that enhance the functionality and user experience of consumer electronic devices. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Tablet-Friendly Gaming Controllers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/razer-kishi-ultra.md) - [Expandable Mobile Gaming Controllers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/abxylute-s9.md) - [Compact Gamepad Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/compact-gamepad.md) - [Console-Style Smartphone Controllers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gamesir-g8-galileo.md) - [Mappable Mobile Gamer Controllers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ultimate-mobile-gaming-controller.md) - [eSports-Grade Mobile Controllers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gamesir-x4-aileron.md) - [Charging-Friendly Smartphone Controllers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/iphone-gaming-controller.md) - [Mobile-Friendly Gaming Controllers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moi3d-concept-controller.md) - [Android-Powered Gaming Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/logitech-g-gaming-handheld.md)
