Each of these Game of Thrones card sets cleverly replace the typical [king, queen and jack](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/billie-eilish-uno-deck) illustrations with [vintage-looking medieval drawings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wizard-of-oz-tarot) of the popular characters from the show. The cards are beautifully illustrated by hand and feature stunning shadowing and detailing done in red and black ink. Some of the characters featured include Tyrion Lannister, Arya Stark, Daenerys Targaryen, Cersei Lannister and Melisandre. Each of the aces are decorated with different Game of Thrones house sigils. All of the cards has an antiquated look achieved by adding a distressed-looking layer over top of the images. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.3/10 - Popularity: 75% | Activity: 77% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Vintage-inspired Card Games:** This trend highlights the popularity of vintage aesthetics in card games, creating opportunities for designers to create unique, nostalgic gaming experiences. - **Character-themed Card Decks:** This trend taps into the fanbase of popular TV shows and movies, presenting opportunities for licensing partnerships to create collectible card decks featuring beloved characters. - **Hand-illustrated Playing Cards:** This trend showcases the value of hand-drawn artwork in the gaming industry, opening up possibilities for artists to collaborate with game publishers to create unique, artisanal card sets. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Gaming:** The gaming industry can capitalize on the trend of vintage-inspired card games by developing new game mechanics and experiences that cater to nostalgic players. - **Entertainment Merchandise:** The entertainment merchandise industry can explore partnerships with TV shows and movies to create character-themed card decks, offering fans a collectible and immersive experience. - **Art and Illustration:** The art and illustration industry can leverage the demand for hand-illustrated playing cards by collaborating with game designers and publishers to produce unique, visually stunning card sets. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Indie Game Playing Cards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/balatro-playing-card-deck.md) - [Limited-Edition Playing Cards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/limited-edition-playing-cards.md) - [Witchy Series-Inspired Tarot Cards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/agatha-all-along-2.md) - [Structure Building Cards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-of-cards-building-kit.md) - [Customizable Trading Card Holders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/trading-card-holders.md) - [Dragon-Themed Alcohol Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cider-and-wine.md) - [Mid-Century Modern Playing Cards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eames-playing-cards.md) - [Fantastical Edition Phones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/15-pro-game-of-thrones.md) - [Fantasy-Inspired Soap Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dr-squatch-1.md)
