# Feudal Fantasy Art Mashups Senji's Game of Thrones Art Incorporates Traditional Japanese Art By Mesel Isaac | Published 2014-01-27 | Pop Culture Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/game-of-thrones-art References: [geekologie](http://geekologie.com/2014/01/game-of-thrones-scenes-in-the-style-of-t.php) & [imgur](http://imgur.com/a/wuLsm) This series of Game of Thrones art mixes the characters and setting of the popular book and TV series with the art of [traditional Japanese wood blocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/genjik). One would think that changing the setting from medieval England to Feudal Japan wouldn't work, and yet it does -- extremely well. Created by Imgur user Senji, this Game of Thrones art is striking a chord with Game of Thrones fans all over the web. The most striking of Senji's image is the one that retells one of the final scenes from the first season, where the main character Ned Stark is beheaded. In Senji's Feudal Game of Thrones art piece, Ned is required to first commit seppuku. Though it sounds like they'd be an odd pairing, Game of Thrones and Feudal Japan make a great team. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.2/10 - Popularity: 22% | Activity: 35% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Pop Culture](https://www.trendhunter.com/popculture) > [Media](https://www.trendhunter.com/media) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Feudal Fantasy Art Mashups:** Opportunity to combine traditional art styles with popular cultural phenomena to create unique and engaging artwork. ### Where This Applies - **Art and Design:** Opportunity for artists to explore and experiment with different artistic styles and themes. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Fantasy-Inspired Soap Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dr-squatch-1.md) - [Artful Puzzle Block Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-great-wave-off-kanagawa.md) - [Fantasy Prequel Wines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-of-the-dragon-fire-blood-cabernet-shiraz.md) - [Show-Inspired Coloring Books](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-of-the-dragon-1.md) - [Fantastical Edition Phones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/15-pro-game-of-thrones.md) - [Thematic Dragon-Inspired Timepieces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dragon-inspired-timepieces.md) - [Japanese Tabletop RPGs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/elden-ring-tabletop-rpg.md) - [Medieval Design-Inspired Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/medival-design.md) - [Tree-Surrounded Mud-Walled Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/winterfell.md)
