Stephen shaped the icing in the form of the newly released [Playstation 4](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/quake-dawn-of-the-machine) video game console, which sits atop a toffee and white chocolate cupcake. The idea came about back when it was speculated that the Playstation 4 would be released on December 13, which also happened to Stephen's birthday. A co-worker made a joke that should Stephen get a [PS4](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sonys-celebrates-30th-anniversary) for his birthday, that he should bring enough for everyone and surprisingly enough, Stephen did exactly that. I can only imagine the look on his co-worker's face that day when Stephen showed up with these awesome video game console cakes. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.9/10 - Popularity: 11% | Activity: 9% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Food](https://www.trendhunter.com/food) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Gaming-inspired Confectionaries:** The trend of creating gaming-inspired desserts presents an opportunity for pastry chefs to tap into the gaming industry and innovate desserts that are both visually appealing and tasty. - **Customized Event Cakes:** As businesses continue to embrace unique office traditions, customized, game-inspired cakes offer an opportunity for pastry chefs to tap into the corporate events market and expand their offerings beyond the traditional wedding and birthday market. - **Edible Fan Art:** The trend of video-game-inspired desserts presents an opportunity for chefs and bakers to showcase their fan art in a new medium that can also be consumed. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Pastry Chef Services:** With the gaming industry rapidly growing, pastry chefs can tap into the market by offering customized gaming-inspired cakes that cater to the different audiences and preferences of the players. - **Corporate Event Planning:** Corporate event planners can work with pastry chefs to develop customized game-inspired cakes and desserts to enhance the theme or atmosphere of their events. - **Alternate Channels for Fan Art:** Gaming-inspired dessert art could offer a new opportunity for pastry chefs to host events showcasing their edible fan art. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Chocolate-Themed Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wonka-xbox-series-x-console.md) - [Game-Themed Cake Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/among-us-impostor-cake.md) - [Recreated Video Game Meals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/playstation-to-plate.md) - [Video Game-Themed Chocolates](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/slime-valentines-day-chocolates.md) - [Video Game-Themed Sundaes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nintendo-cold-stone-creamery.md) - [Building Block Gaming Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-ps-one.md) - [Video Game-Themed Chocolate Gifts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nintendo-and-godiva.md) - [Video Game Cookie Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/final-fantasy-vii-rebirth.md) - [Video Game-Inspired Frozen Treats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/doughlicious-doom-the-dark-ages.md)
