# Multimedia Massage Recliners The Touchscreen-Equipped Galatea SPA Chair Relaxes Your Body and Mind By Alex Scott | Published 2010-04-10 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/galatea-spa-chair References: [bornrich.org](http://www.bornrich.org/entry/galatea-spa-chair-with-laser-touch-screen-would-relax-gen-x-geeks/) & [coroflot](http://www.coroflot.com/public/individual_details.asp?job_seeker_id=267373) May I present to you the last piece of furniture you'll ever sit in, as once you try out the [Galatea](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/inkitt) SPA Chair, there will be no getting you up, and that's a promise. Get this: the chair gives you a full-on body massage while you peruse the Internet on a nifty touchscreen. Not only that, but you can watch TV, read an e-book or just listen to tunes while you're getting your rubdown. The Galatea SPA Chair is made from bamboo with the seat covered in a white leather. Now, of course you will have to get out of the chair at one point to feed yourself--that is of course, until they come out with the intravenous model. Then there's no saving you. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.9/10 - Popularity: 33% | Activity: 15% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Multimedia Massage Chairs:** The integration of touchscreens and internet connectivity in massage chairs offers a new level of relaxation and entertainment for users. - **Smart Furniture:** The Galatea SPA Chair represents the growing trend of incorporating technology and connectivity into everyday furniture, showcasing the potential for smart and interactive designs. - **Connected Wellness:** The combination of massage functionalities and multimedia features in the Galatea SPA Chair reflects the emergence of connected wellness devices that enhance relaxation experiences. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture Manufacturing:** The furniture manufacturing industry should explore integrating technology and multimedia capabilities into their products to cater to the demand for smart and innovative furniture designs. - **Wellness and Relaxation:** The wellness and relaxation industry can benefit from incorporating technology-driven features, such as touchscreens and multimedia, to enhance their products and services. - **Home Entertainment:** The home entertainment industry can capitalize on the integration of multimedia and massage functionalities in furniture to create immersive and therapeutic entertainment experiences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Folding At-Home Massage Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/robotic-massage-chair.md) - [AI-Powered Massage Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/osim-ulove-3.md) - [AI-Powered Massage Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lg-arte-up-massage-chair.md) - [Reclining Massage Beds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/reclining-massage-bed.md) - [Relaxing Media Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lg-display-media-chair.md) - [Yoga Inspired Massage Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/costway-massage-chair.md) - [Tech-Infused Egg Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arne-jacobsen.md) - [Voice-Enabled Recliner Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sitjoy-smartsofa.md) - [Massage-Focused Office Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/innovative-office-chair.md)
