# Hand-Shaped Mice The G50 Vanguard Provides Comfort While Navigating the Web By Meghan Young | Published 2010-08-03 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/g50-vanguard References: [dvice](http://dvice.com/archives/2010/08/mouse-shaped-ju.php) & [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2010/08/02/a-mouse-for-those-with-hands/) Having grown quite dependent on my [computer mouse](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solakaka-e9-pro), I know that just the slightest tweak could make or break my relationship with it--the G50 Vanguard looks like it could make it. Shaped like a hand, it provides the right grooves to support and guide your hand, making your computer experience that much more bearable and, dare I say, pleasurable. Considering that I spend most of my day whiling away the hours in front of my computer, the G50 Vanguard seems like it would ease my [aching hand muscles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/razer-pro-click-v2-vertical-edition). Although, as Dvice observes, [mice](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/glorious-1) (including the G50 Vanguard) might have a limited lifespan, thanks to the Magic Trackpad. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.4/10 - Popularity: 47% | Activity: 47% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 90% men, 10% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Ergonomic Computer Accessories:** There is an opportunity for businesses to create more comfortable and supportive computer accessories to improve user experience. - **Gesture-based Technology:** The popularity of the Magic Trackpad suggests gesture-based technology could be a disruptive innovation in the computer accessory industry. - **Personalized Computer Accessories:** There is a demand for computer accessories that cater to individuals' unique needs and preferences. ### Who This Affects Most - **Computer Accessory Manufacturing:** Companies can create new designs for computer accessories that prioritize ergonomics and personalization. - **Gesture Technology:** Creating new gesture-based technology could revolutionize the computer and accessory industry. - **Healthcare and Wellness:** There is potential for businesses to create products that address the discomfort and health risks associated with prolonged computer use. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Discomfort Prevention Mouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vertical-ergonomic-mouse.md) - [Health-Conscious Mouse Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ergo-ergonomic-mouse-concept.md) - [Minimalist Ergonomic Mouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/keychron-m5.md) - [Angled Productivity PC Mouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hansker-vertical-mouse.md) - [Pocket-Sized Ergonomic Mouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/horizontal-mouse.md) - [Vertical Ergonomic Tech Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vertical-mouse-concept.md) - [Ergonomic Quality Computer Mice](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/propoint.md) - [Egg-Inspired Adjustable Mouse](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eggshaped-mouse.md) - [Contoured Comfort Mouse Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/conceptual-ergonomic-mouse.md)
