The end result is a space that is identifiable by smart features, [sculptural sensibilities](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cromatica), and compact aesthetics. Undoubtedly expressive, the futuristic apartment spotlights some of Rehau's own products. A key element of this concept is the layout design. The two firms decide to "reduce a typical kitchen, bathroom and sitting area into freestanding modules." This does not only fosters convenience but it also delivers a strong aesthetic twist. Debuted at the Interzum 2019, Rehau and Ippolito Fleitz Group intended to "offer memorable experiences and technical insights beyond the standard apartment." ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.4/10 - Popularity: 97% | Activity: 86% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Ultra-techy Living:** Create innovative living spaces that integrate smart features, sculptural sensibilities, and compact aesthetics. - **Modular Design:** Explore the potential of reducing traditional spaces into freestanding modules for enhanced convenience and aesthetics. - **Enhanced Experiences:** Design apartments that offer memorable experiences and technical insights beyond the standard living space. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Plastic Manufacturing:** Integrate smart plastic materials and products into futuristic apartment designs for enhanced functionality and aesthetics. - **Architecture and Design:** Incorporate modular living concepts into architectural plans and interior design for modern and innovative living spaces. - **Home Appliances and Fixtures:** Develop smart and compact appliances and fixtures to complement the futuristic apartment concept and enhance user experience. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Freestanding Experimental Kitchens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/experimental-kitchens.md) - [Industrial-Inspired Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/glassbrick-apartment.md) - [Apartment-Inspired Drawer Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apt-drawers.md) - [Futuristic Vibrant London Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/2lg-studio-1.md) - [Bathroom-Centric Dubai Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bone-studio.md) - [Ultra-Slick Modern Apartment Interiors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modern-apartment-interior.md) - [Reflective Surface German Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kier-apartment.md) - [Playful Apartment Makeovers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/onda-apartment.md) - [Smartly Designed Compact Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/compact-apartments2.md)
