# Sculptural Storage Tables The Toi Table is a Beautiful Piece of Furniture with Storage By Laura McQuarrie | Published 2013-08-13 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/furniture-with-storage References: [fancy](http://fancy.com/things/193343804042909977/Toi-Table-by-Salvatore-Indriolo) & [salvatoreindriolo.it](http://www.salvatoreindriolo.it/) 'Toi' is a table by Salvatore Indriolo and it is proof that a piece of furniture with storage can still be aesthetically pleasing. This table melds form and function beautifully, featuring a design that is [sculptural and still very practical](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptural-coffee-tables). The table's polyurethane frame is topped with an aluminum-clad plywood surface which is coated in a white varnish. As well, the cleverly-designed table top can fully rotate. At a first glance, this pedestal table is quite deceptive -- it seems solid. Instead, its [flat tabletop surface opens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bookmarker-table) to reveal that the [table has a bird bath-like shape](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tamo). The design of the table makes cleaning up a breeze, helping homeowners to tuck away remote controls and other household items. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.9/10 - Popularity: 62% | Activity: 46% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Sculptural Furniture:** Designing furniture that is both aesthetically pleasing and functional, introducing new innovative designs to the furniture industry. - **Multipurpose Furniture:** Developing furniture designs that can serve more than one purpose for practical use in small spaces. - **Modular Furniture:** Designing furniture with the ability to be reconfigured or changed to meet different needs and spaces, giving customers more customization options. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture:** The furniture industry can introduce new, multifunctional designs to cater to customers looking for both practical and aesthetically pleasing furniture pieces. - **Home Goods:** The home goods industry can incorporate multipurpose designs for practical use in small and compact living spaces while still being stylish. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can incorporate modular furniture into their designs to offer clients the flexibility of reconfiguring their spaces without the need for new furniture purchases. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Discreet Compartment Modern Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/taarof-table.md) - [Metal Sheet Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/twist-side-table.md) - [Impactful Industrial Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/to-steel-side-table.md) - [Perplexingly Angular Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tadashi-side-table.md) - [Bent Multi-Functional Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-shell-table.md) - [Wine Storage Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/roll-side-table.md) - [Splintered Storage Console Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flitter-console-table.md) - [Dynamic Sculptural Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/interactive-transformation-table.md) - [Paper-Like Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cocoon-coffee-table.md)
