Kiev-based brand [Faina](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plyn-sofa) sees the opportunity in this and launches a collection that is dedicated to showcasing the functionality and aesthetic properties of these fabrications. Moreover, the fact that they pay homage to Ukranian culture is a welcomed bonus. When designing the silhouettes of the collection of [furniture from clay and flax](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/earth-to-people-furniture-collection), Faina also focused on representing "[domestic traditions, materials and craft techniques](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/woodcarving-heritage)." This notion allows for each piece to bear an interesting element that ties it to Eastern culture and therefore makes for an especially interesting embellishment to the Western space. In addition to all of this, each token of furniture has an enticing primitive aspect to it. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.0/10 - Popularity: 72% | Activity: 70% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Clay-and-flax Furniture:** Opportunity for disrupting the traditional furniture industry by using unconventional materials. - **Cultural Homage Furniture:** Opportunity to create furniture that pays homage to a particular culture, appealing to consumers looking for unique pieces with meaning. - **Primitive Design Furniture:** Opportunity to create furniture that embraces primitive design elements for a unique and rustic aesthetic. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture:** Opportunity for furniture makers to explore unconventional and cultural materials to appeal to eco-conscious, design-savvy consumers. - **Interior Design:** Opportunity for interior designers to embrace cultural and primitive design elements to create unique and meaningful spaces. - **Crafts:** Opportunity for craftspeople to incorporate traditional and cultural techniques into their creations, appealing to consumers looking for authentic and handcrafted pieces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Mythical Forest-Inspired Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grun-collection.md) - [Reimagined Monolithic Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fossil-furniture.md) - [Ukranian-Supporting Home Decor](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gunia-project-1.md) - [Curvaceous Linoleum Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/linoleum-furniture-collection.md) - [Indigenous Amazonian-Inspired Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ibuju.md) - [Mud-Made Furniture Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/new-volumes-collection-02-terracotta.md) - [Ukranian All-Beige Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/allbeige-home.md) - [Bangladeshi-Inspired Playful Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fico.md) - [Textured Modern Furniture Lines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/touch-collections.md)
