# Realistic Avian Confections The Furious Fowl Cake Depicts Angry Birds in Immaculate Detail By Matt Ho | Published 2011-07-09 | Lifestyle Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/furious-fowl-cake References: [kotaku](http://kotaku.com/5819023/these-angry-birds-cakes-look-disgusting-taste-amazing) & [threadcakes](http://www.threadcakes.com/entries/view/1023#28) If you've ever wondered what happens to those pigs after you win an Angry Birds level, the Furious Fowl Cake by Threadcakes will give you a pretty good, but disturbing idea. The team of Kelli Watkins and Jamie Masterson created the Furious Fowl Cake without the intention of reflecting Angry Birds. After taking a second look, however, the two converted this [scrumptious dessert](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/artful-cake) into the popular [iPhone](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/duckduckgo-4) game. This treat isn't cartoonish, either; Watkins and Masterson molded a very realistic version of the characters out of fondant and spray-painted the cake with an airbrush and edible paint. The result? A hyperreal version of the red, yellow and blue bird standing on top of their defeated enemy swine. Additional details that reflect the game include the slingshot. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.9/10 - Popularity: 40% | Activity: 39% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Food](https://www.trendhunter.com/food) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Realistic Avian Confections:** Opportunity for bakeries and cake decorators to create hyperrealistic and intricate cakes inspired by popular video games. ### Where This Applies - **Cake Decorating:** Innovative techniques like molding fondant and using edible paint can be employed by cake decorators to create realistic and visually stunning cakes. - **Gaming:** Integration of popular video game themes into the world of baking can create unique and engaging experiences for gamers and fans of the game. - **Specialty Bakeries:** Specialty bakeries can tap into the growing demand for customized and creative cakes by offering unique cake designs inspired by popular culture, such as video games. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Mobile Game-Themed Cafes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/iswii-angry-birds.md) - [Balloon Dog Cakes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/balloon-dog-cake.md) - [Cake-Themed Commercials](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kfc-thailands-birthday-ad.md) - [Celebratory Bacon Cakes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bacon-cake.md) - [Turkey-Resembling Ice Cream Cakes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/turkey-cake.md) - [Savory Smash Cakes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smash-cake.md) - [Remastered Classic Mobile Games](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rovio-classics.md) - [Dual-Flavor Movie-Inspired Cakes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wicked-celebration-cake.md) - [Design-Centric Dynamic Artful Cakes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/artful-cake.md)
