That's not hard to do when you look at the [playful, whimsical seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/collection-co) and decorative designs of 25-year-old Mexican designer, [Christian Vivanco](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/azzedine-alaa-foundation). Christian believes, "there are no bad days", and that is apparent by the cheerful aesthetic present in all of his designs. The "Our Little Sofa", is a particularly clever design, creating the appearance of combining the idea of indoor and outdoor altogether in one piece: look closely! The veggie chair could be a cucumber or a zucchini, or something else entirely. The names of his pieces are based on the Mayan language, such as the "Hoo" which translates to hole. The "insitu" is a [really low chair](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kouros-maghsoudi) and the Plus shelf is simplistic but brings a smile, while the Alux table, seems at first to be a lamp. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.7/10 - Popularity: 35% | Activity: 8% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Playful Furniture Design:** Designers can create furniture with a playful and whimsical aesthetic, inspiring positivity and happiness in their customers. - **Indoor-outdoor Furniture Hybrid:** Furniture designers can explore the concept of combining indoor and outdoor designs into one piece, creating unique and versatile furniture options. - **Mayan-inspired Furniture:** Designers can draw inspiration from ancient cultures like the Mayans to create unique furniture designs with ties to heritage and tradition. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture Design:** Furniture designers can use these trends to create innovative and differentiated products, appealing to consumers looking for unique and cheerful design options. - **Home Decor:** The playfulness and aesthetic of these designs can inspire other home decor products, such as accessories and accents, to create a cohesive and cheerful atmosphere. - **Lifestyle and Wellness:** The idea of creating products that inspire positivity and happiness can also translate into the lifestyle and wellness industry, encouraging a more joyful approach to life. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Plug Socket-Cladded Armchairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smiley-chair.md) - [Ultra-Comfy Seating Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cushy-lounge-chair.md) - [Playful Toy-Like Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/frunchroom-furniture-collection.md) - [Playful Vibrant Creative Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/woo-furniture.md) - [Bulbous Artful Furniture Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hello-collection.md) - [Transforming Imaginative Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kiddie-couch.md) - [Sculptural Minimalism Sofa Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/noom-hello-sofa.md) - [Fluffy Organically-Shaped Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fallwinter-21-minimo.md) - [Latin Playground-Inspired Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-sum-of-small-parts.md)
